How We Farm

2008 will be our 4th season growing organic veggies, flowers and herbs here in southern Vermont. Each year has been a learning experience. As as we build our soils and our business we continue to gain appreciation for the delicate balances in nature and the complex role we play. In the process we have found agricultural practices to fit our scale and our principles.

In this part of the website we'll try to explain how we farm. I was never exposed to most of this information as an agriculture major in college. Some of these practices apply better to us than they might to other farms because we have abudant labor but a relatively small land base. We also have pretty high weed pressure and our fair share of rocks.
